Centre ice for the Alliston Hornets
A strong second period on special teams was the difference for the Alliston Hornets on Wednesday, February 12th.
The boys welcomed in the Orillia Terriers to the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre. It was actually the Terriers that opened the scoring. Alliston would answer back with two straight goals from Tristen Pitt and David Harvey. Orillia would take advantage of some opportunities and regain the one goal lead. Jax Bellwood would tie it up late in the first, making it 3-3 after one period of play.
In the second, Alliston was able to make the powerplay work for them. Jacob Holmes and Jaeden French would both score to make it 5-3 Alliston heading into the second intermission.
Pitt would get his second of the game in the third to help the Hornets clinch the 6-4 win to remain nearly undefeated on the season.
Seth Ronan was in net for Alliston. He’d stop 34 of 38 shots for the .894% save percentage and win.
The Hornets now get ready for a road game against the Innisfil Spartans. Puck drop at the Innisfil Recreation Complex is set for 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14th.
They return home on Monday, February 17th to take on the Stayner Siskins. Puck drop will be at the New Tecumseth Rec Centre will be at 2:30 p.m. with it being Family Day. Ticket information can be found here.
