About 81-thousand people worldwide have been sickened by the COVID-19 virus believed to have started in China.

The World Health Organization is saying the chances of Canadians becoming infected with the coronavirus is low.
Those who don’t want to take any chances, face masks provide protection.

He says the recommended mask is sold in his store.

Wilcox says in the month of February the Alliston Home Hardware store has sold what they would typically sell in 6 months.
He says they have ordered more and have fully stocked their shelves.
Many of the masks bought domestically have been shipped to China to family members.
Some end up on the black market.
A report last week said the chances of winning a lottery may be greater than those for buying face masks in parts of Asia.
