Nottawasaga OPP arrested and charged a 25-year-old from Brampton, following a fraud investigation at a bank in New Tecumseth.
On Wednesday, officers responded to the call of someone trying to open a bank account, using fake identification and a fraudulent SIN letter.
When confronted, the suspect tried to flee on foot but was quickly located nearby by police.
The man now faces multiple charges, including identity theft, possession of forged documents, and obstruction of a peace officer.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
