Centre ice for the Alliston Hornets
That’s all she wrote!
The Alliston Hornets were a very dominant team in the PJHL regular season, but they could carry that dominance over to the third round of the playoffs.
They found themselves down 3-1 to the Orillia Terriers heading into game five on Friday, March 28th at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre in front of 1151 people.
Bendo Logan and Jax Bellwood would open the scoring for the Hornets, getting the team out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. Orillia would get one back before the end of the period to make it 2-1 Alliston after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, Bellwood scored his 2nd of the game to make it a two-goal lead again. It didn’t last long as Orillia would respond with a pair of goals to tie the game after two periods of play.
Tristen Pitt would score a go ahead goal in the final frame, but the Terriers would tie things up with just over two minutes to go in the game. It was 4-4 heading into overtime.
Orillia would then score the game winner, clinching the series win in just five games.
Seth Ronan was the netminder for Alliston, stopping 30 of 35 shots for the .857% save percentage.
The Terriers now head off to the next round, and the Hornets head into the offseason.
