Twenty-six residents from Simcoe-Grey have been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medals, for their contributions to their communities and Canada.
Among the recipients is Rory MacKinnon of Alliston, who has raised over $200,000 for local causes and donated $50,000 to the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. MacKinnon also supports various organizations, including Ronald McDonald House and Matthews House Hospice.
New Tecumseth’s Donna Jebb, a former town councillor and deputy mayor, was also honored for her volunteer work, including leadership roles in 4-H, the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario, and her fundraising efforts for the Canadian Paraplegic Organization.
The recipients were nominated by MP Terry Dowdall and MPP Brian Saunderson.
