Centre ice for the Alliston Hornets
The Alliston Hornets officially have their opponent for the third round of the PJHL Playoffs.
After sweeping the first two rounds, the Hornets will take on the Orillia Terriers next. While the Hornets are undefeated in the postseason, the Terriers aren’t far off, having just one loss so far.
Looking at the 2024-2025 regular season, the Hornets are 6-0-0-0 against the Terriers, including three wins in February. In that time, Alliston outscored Orillia 36-15.
So far in the playoffs, forward Jaeden French is the leading scorer for Alliston. He has 12 goals and 11 assists over all eight games played. He was also a dominant player in the regular season, leading the team in scoring with 37 goals and 65 assists over 39 games.
Thing is, French was second in scoring across the entire league, with Orillia’s Jordan Fuller being the top point getter in the PJHL. His 48 goals and 66 assists in 42 games played led all skaters in the regular season. His scoring touch hasn’t been quite as efficient in the postseason, as Fuller ranks 5th in team scorer in the playoffs. Leading the Terriers over nine games is Dylan Palomaki with an even nine goals and nine assists.
Game one of the third round series between Alliston and Orillia will take place on Friday, March 21st at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre. Game time is listed for 7:30 p.m. Ticket information can be found here.
