Simcoe County’s forest management continues to thrive as it enters its 103rd year of overseeing the local forest system.
Last year, the county planted over 22,000 trees, acquired additional lands and generated more than $2.5 million in revenue from harvest activities.
The county now oversees nearly 34,000 acres of land, with forest management efforts over the past year including the planting of 23,000 trees across four separate locations.
These efforts included expanding forests in Springwater, Tiny and Severn townships and receiving a generous land donation in Innisfil.
