Back to the winter weather!
There are a pair of Winter Weather Alerts in place for Orangeville today. The first one is a Flash Freeze Warning:
“Icy and slippery conditions are expected to develop as temperatures rapidly fall below the freezing mark. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
The second alert is a Blowing Snow Advisory:
“Snow will continue today. Widespread blowing snow is expected to develop later this morning as the winds strengthen leading to reduced visibility, which may be be near zero at times, particularly over exposed areas. Conditions are expected to improve this evening. However, lake effect snow squalls could affect some areas beginning Friday morning. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Road closures are possible. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.”
