This run of dominance continues for the Alliston Hornets.
On Friday, February 14th, the Hornets went on the road to take on the Innisfil Spartans at the Innisfil Recreation Complex. It took just four minutes for Will Millington to score his 11th of the season to open the scoring for Alliston. Three minutes later, Cole Turcotte got on the board with his 32nd of the year. Innisfil would get one back to make it 2-1 Alliston after 20 minutes of action.
The second period was mostly scoreless until Jacob Holmes buried his 23rd of the year with less than a minute to go. It was 3-1 Hornets after two periods of play.
In the final frame, the Hornets offence went ballistic. Turcotte and Millington would both score twice to clinch hattricks for the night. Tristen Pitt would score the other goal to make it an 8-1 win for Alliston.
Seth Ronan was in net for the win. He stopped 17 of 18 shots for the .944% save percentage.
It was a quick turnaround for Alliston.
They stayed on the road to travel to Orillia on Saturday, February 15th to play the Terriers at the West Orillia Sports Complex.
The Terriers would be the first to get on the board. Jaeden French responded quickly for the Hornets, netting his 34th of the year. Cam Lamont then followed that up with his 10th. Orillia would tie things up right after, making 2-2 after 20 minutes.
In the second period, Cole Turcotte would continue his hot weekend, scoring his 35th of the season. Alliston led 3-2 after two periods of play.
After a close game for most of the third, Mark Coish would score the dagger late in the frame. Ben Smith would follow up with an empty netter to clinch the 5-2 win.
