The Dufferin Parent Support Network (DPSN) was started back in 1999 and was just a small community project.
Now, they’re celebrating going into 25 years with a grant provided by The Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Andrew the intern discussed the DPSN and it’s history with two people.
The first being, Neetu Dane, a member of the DPSN Board of Directors.
Neetu goes over what the Dufferin Parent Support Network is and what their goals and missions are.
With the Network receiving just over $16,000 in grant money from the Trillium Foundation, Neetu talks about what they’re going to spend the money on.
Neetu actually had to stay away from the vote on the grant since she’s on the committee, nevertheless however, she and the entire network were thrilled to hear about the grant money.
The second person that Andrew talked with was Barbara Horvath, Chair on the board of directors and founder of the DPSN.
Barb talks about why she started the network in the late 1990s.
The Network had a big impact on Barbs life. From meeting new people to learning how to run the network.
With this being Barb’s last year with the network, she shares some parting feelings about the others and the future of the DPSN.
