Every Thursday we showcase a pet currently being cared for at the Alliston & District Humane Society!
This week, we spoke with ADHS Volunteer Gladys about Judy.
Judy is a very sweet and loving dog who bonds quickly with her humans and stays close by and is not far behind when you move to the next room.
The difficult part about Judy is her extreme prey drive. Once she gets outdoors, Judy becomes very curious and has the most incredible sense of smell and focus when it comes to squirrels and bunnies.
Her future home is one where there is no cats or other small animals because of her high prey drive.
She is smart and picks up commands and gestures quickly. Judy is very loyal to her humans and walks very well on leash.
We are currently looking for a foster to adopt home for Judy, as she came to us with heartworm.
Judy is being treated, but unfortunately the treatment process is a 1 year long and requires Judy to get daily medication.
Judy also needs to stay calm and not do a lot of exercise while she goes through her treatment.
If you would like to meet Judy please complete an online adoption application at www.allistonhumane.com
