1) What platform are you running on and how will it positively affect the community?
I am running on a platform that highlights three things our residents deserve.
Fiscal Management, Road Safety and Building a Livable Community.
The pandemic has turned from a medical crisis into a financial one for many residents and businesses.
The town can and should be actively working to lessen the burden it places on its citizens by striving to keep taxes low and to spend revenue wisely.
I will champion every opportunity to do that.
Speeding on our roads is a major issue.
If elected I promise to bring more traffic control measures into our neighbourhoods as well as push for more speed monitoring to keep our streets safe.
Our residents deserve it.
Our town has more potential than any municipality in the province.
I believe we can unlock that through smart planning and a focus on using development revenue to increase our quality of life.
This includes more greenspace, more parks and linking our trail system together.
I will strive to build a more livable community for the present and the future.
2) What do you believe are some things that need change in our community, and how do you plan on involving residents in the planning of those changes?
I believe we need to change how we build.
Our developments often do not benefit all residents.
I want to change that and will, if elected.
We can build up and not out.
We can advertise to the global business community all we have to offer and bring good paying jobs to the community.
We can also invest in our existing residents through better planning and much needed upgrades to our recreational facilities utilizing revenue from development and working with other levels of government for funding.
3) If you win, what will your first action be as an elected official?
The position of Deputy Mayor includes representing our town along with the Mayor at Simcoe County.
My first action would be to bring our concerns to Simcoe County council and bring better services to New Tecumseth.
I will be a strong advocate for ensuring the tax dollars we send to Simcoe County are utilized in our community.
My message will be clear.
As one of the largest taxpayers in the County we need investment to continue to excel.
I am the right choice to fight for our needs at the table.
