
The Innisfil Spartans were announced Wednesday (aug 18) as the newest team playing in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
Innisfil resident and team owner, George Floros, began the process of bringing a Junior C team to the Innisfil Recreational Complex in 2019.
The Innisfil Spartans are expected to be playing in the 2022-2023 season.
Current Junior C league playing circle include municipalities such as Alliston, Schomburg, Caledon, Stayner, Orillia, Midland and Penetanguishene
Innisfil has not had a Junior level hockey team since 1985 when the Stroud Bruins Junior A ceded their operations at the Stroud-Innisfil Community Centre.
