Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston has updated their visiting hours.
Effective immediately, visitors are no longer permitted in the Hospital with the exception of the Obstetrics Unit, where patients are able to have one support person 24/7 but it must be the same person.
Exceptions also apply in the Emergency Department, for example if a parent brings their child in, and visitors that are deemed an essential support for patient care will be exempted but that will be based on clinical judgment on a day-by-day basis.
All elective surgeries and non-urgent procedures have been postponed.
Stevenson Memorial has all canceled non-essential services and only urgent visits will be accommodated in specialized outpatient clinics and Diagnostic Imaging until further notice.
They also ask, again, if you are feeling unwell and do not require medical attention, please do not visit the Hospital.
We hope to get an update from Stevenson President and CEO Jody Levac today (Friday, Mar 20).
