Residents who do their banking at the RBC in Beeton will have to pick another branch this summer.
In an email to the myFM newsroom RBC Corporate Communications confirmed the branch located at 12 Main Street West in Beeton will close its doors August 7, 2020
New Tecumseth Deputy Mayor Richard Norcross says the news came as a shock to both him and residents.
Shauna Cook is with Media Relations at RBC.
She wrote in her email “…a number of factors were considered when making this decision, including foot traffic, digital engagement and how clients are moving through the community.”
She says clients are being contacted directly to help support them during the transition.
RBC is exploring options for maintaining an ATM in Beeton.
There are currently 2 other RBC branches in New Tecumseth, one on Queen Street in Tottenham and the other on King St in Alliston.
